Sept. 8, 2003
Robert Killian led the men's team to their first win of the 2003 season as the team traveled to Columbia to participate in the University of South Carolina Invitational. Killian took the blue ribbon in the 5K with a time of 15:59.00.
"I am happy with the results, especially with Nick Gastley and Vince Betchel hurt," commented head coach Jody Huddleston. "Obviously, Killian ran well, and it was great to see the freshman step up and perform at the level they did."
Six runners came home with prizes as they placed in the top-15. Marc Quesenberry's time of 16:17.00 was good enough for the fourth-place spot, while newcomers Will Wilson (16:35.00) and Matt Holmes (16:37.00) placed ninth and tenth, respectively. Charles Kutz rounded out the top-14 for The Citadel with a 16:51.00 time.
The Bulldogs return to action Sept. 13 at Davidson.
