Greenville, SC - Furman's Lady Paladin volleyball team improved to 13-12 overall and 7-5 in the Southern Conference with a 30-21, 30-19, 30-19 victory over The Citadel Friday night in Alley Gym.

The Lady Paladins outhit the Bulldogs .324 to .170 and posted 45 digs to The Citadel's 28 in securing Furman's fifth consecutive victory.

Furman senior Julia Fredrickson paced the Lady Paladin offense with 15 kills and a .591 attack percentage, while Whitney Purser added 14 kills and Chibuzo Aguocha totaled nine. Rosey Cashman tallied 14 digs in the win to pace the Furman defense, while Aguocha's three block solos topped the Lady Paladins at the net.

The Citadel was paced by Audra Ritchie's 10 kills, while Samantha Parisi contributed 12 digs to the Bulldog effort.

The Lady Paladins will close out the home portion of their 2004 schedule on Saturday, with a noon match against the College of Charleston. The Citadel faces Wofford Saturday in an 11 a.m. meeting.
