The Coastal Carolina University men's tennis team (1-2) fell to The Citadel 6- 1 Feb. 19, at the Billy Nichols Tennis Center. The Bulldogs won five of six
singles matches in the win.
Freshman Simon Taylor (Hampshire, England) earned the Chants victory,
defeating Rob Haynie 6-4, 7-5. Seniors Matt Stubbs and John Williams, as well as sophomores Warren Woolfolk and David Lara, and freshman Carl Hocker won in straight sets for the Bulldogs.
In the doubles, The Citadel picked up all three matches, with sophomore
Florentin Meynie (Nanterre, France) and Taylor falling 8-6 to Warren Woolfolk
and David Lara at number one doubles.
Coastal heads to Wilmington, N.C., to face the University of North Carolina at
Wilmington Wed. Feb. 25, at 2 p.m., while The Citadel will host Davidson at 1 p.m. on the 28th.
