Former players that encompass seven decades of Citadel Basketball, including four 1,000-point career scorers, highlight The Citadel's 2nd Annual Alumni Basketball Game Saturday afternoon.
Bulldogs who played in the 1940s through the 2003 season will return for the game, which will be held immediately following The Citadel's 2 p.m. Southern Conference contest with Wofford College in McAlister Field House.
Former players who have gathered for the event will be introduced at halftime of The Citadel - Wofford game, and will be greeted at midcourt by former Bulldogs coach and current Director of Athletics Les Robinson.
Expected to return for the game include 1,000-point career scorers Tom Slawson '80, Craig Burgess '87, Cliff Washburn '03 and Michael Joseph '03. Jamie Jenkins '98, who scored 999 points during his all-Southern Conference career, will also participate in the game.
From the 1940s and '50s, Ray Young '50, Jerry Varn '53 and Bill Spivey '56 will be in attendance. From the 1960s and '70s, Bob Kiggans '65, Dave Bornhorst '68, Greg Connor '69, Greg Weber '74 and Chuck Cordell '74 will be there. From the 1980s, Wells Holland '82 and Xavier Starks '84 will participate, and from the 1990s, Terry Campbell '94 and Julian "Juice" London '98 will play. And recent graduates William Hines '02, Gregg Jones '03, Kenny Milford '03 and Romas Krywonis '03 will be playing, among others.
