Charleston, SC - Five Bulldogs won in singles action, and The Citadel (7-5, 3-0 SoCon) took the doubles point in their seventh consecutive match as they routed James Madison (3-7) by a score of 6-1 this afternoon at the Earle Tennis Center.

In doubles, Bulldog sophomores David Lara and Warren Woolfolk beat junior David Emery and senior Colin Malcolm, 8-3 in the No. 1 match. In the No. 3 contest, Citadel senior John Williams and freshman Robert Haynie blanked senior Craig Anderson and sophomore Bob Allensworth, 8-0 to secure the doubles point, while Richmond sophomore John Snead and junior Martin Rohricht beat senior Matt Stubbs and freshman Carl Hocker, 9-7 in the third match. In singles action Senior Matt Stubbs won the No. 1 match over Richmond junior David Emery, 6-3, 6-1, while his classmate John Williams defeated Richmond sophomore John Snead in the No. 2 match, 6-2, 6-2. On court four, Bulldog sophomore Warren Woolfolk battled back from a first set loss to defeat junior Martin Rohricht, 3-6, 6-2, 7-6 (7-5). In the No. 5 match, sophomore Cadet David Lara defeated senior Colin Malcolm, 6-4, 6-1, while in the No. 6, Citadel freshman Robert Haynie recorded his fourth win of the season as he beat freshman Brian Clay 6-4, 6-0. The Citadel's lone singles loss came on court three where Richmond senior Craig Anderson beat freshman Carl Hocker 6-1, 6-2.

"James Madison is a quality program and this was a good win," said Citadel Head Coach Toby Simpson. "Hopefully we can keep this momentum rolling through the weekend."

The Dukes will head to Davidson to face the Wildcats on Saturday at 1:30 pm, while the Bulldogs will host SoCon foe UNC-Greensboro (2-5, 1-0 SoCon) tomorrow at 2 pm at the Earle Tennis Center.
