Columbia, SC - Sophomore Alexis Gonzalez captured third-place in the pole vault as The Citadel traveled to the University of South Carolina to participate in the annual Weems Baskin Sprint Relays last weekend.

Gonzalez reached a height of 2.60 meters in the pole vault as she attained the bronze medal. Junior Kelly Pesterfield secured the fourth spot in the 100-meters with a time of 13.33, while newcomer Laura Hewston's time of 5:11.55 in the 1500-meters took eighth-place.

The Bulldogs return to action Friday-Saturday, March 26-27, in Gainesville, FL. The Florida Relays are slated to begin at 9AM at the University of Florida's Percy Beard Track.
