Senior Robert Killian captured fifth-place in the 3000m steeplechase at the 27th Annual Spec Towns Invitational. The Citadel traveled to Georgia and joined some of the nation's best hurlers on Georgia's track.
Killian completed the steeplechase in 9:36.74. Freshmen Quintin Wright and Thomas Pressley secured the fifth and sixth spots in the 100m with times of 10.97 and 10.98, respectively. In the 400m hurdles, sophomore Thomas Cummings took sixth-place with a time of 54.35.
In the shot put, The Citadel men preformed well as they took sixth, seventh, eighth and ninth-place. Sophomore Chris Petty hurled the shot a distance of 13.06m for sixth-place, while senior Travis Taylor's 13.05m toss earned the seventh spot. Junior Erick Austin's throw of 12.41m, and freshman Alex Croskey's, pitch of 12.25m secured the eighth and ninth slots, respectively.
The Citadel will compete at the Elon Invitational, April 17. Events are slated to begin at 8 AM.
