Charleston, SC - Citadel head coach John Zernhelt teamed up with NFL representative Jerry Horowitz as they held a youth coaching clinic on Wednesday, May 26th on The Citadel's campus.

Youth coaches from around the area including representatives from Mt. Pleasant, West Ashley, Summerville and Charleston were in attendance at an event that was developed in order create positive influences in youth players.

"When you have the opportunity to create positive influences in young people's lives it is a win-win situation for all individuals involved," Zernhelt stated. "Youth coaches are part of the building blocks that help kids develop positive feelings about the game of football. The more kids that are involved the better it is in order to create more prospects for high schools, colleges and the pros."

Horowitz served as the primary speaker for the event. Horowitz works for the NFL front office in New York and serves as the director for youth development for the league.
