Troy, AL - Troy (2-3-1) defeated The Citadel (0-5, 0-1 SoCon) Sunday afternoon 5-0 at the Lady Trojan Soccer Complex. The Citadel is still looking for their first win of the 2004 season after being blanked by the Trojans.

Trojan player Brittany Stoltz netted the first goal for Troy 11 minutes into the game. Stoltz also tallied an assist for the second goal off the foot of Karlie Bierie. Trojan Kate Hyslop put it between the posts early in the second half to make it 3-0. Stoltz again came through for the Trojans as she scored two unassisted goals to put the game out of reach for the Bulldogs.

The Bulldogs were out shot 22-5 after holding the Tojans to only nine shots in the first half. Junior Lauren Merchant and senior Shawna Hartman attempted the only two shots on goal for The Citadel. Freshman goalkeeper Brit Bunnell tallied eight saves in the game.

The Bulldogs will be back between the pipes at home Saturday, September 18 to take on South Carolina State at 1:00 p.m. at the Washington Light Infantry Field. The Citadel leads the all time series 3-0 and posted a 6-0 win against SC State in 2003.
