Orangeburg, SC - The Citadel ran away with the 2004 Lady Bulldogs Spikefest Tournament Championship Saturday afternoon after posting a perfect 4-0 record in the tournament. The host South Carolina State University Lady Bulldogs took tournament runners-up honors in the two-day event.

The two top teams opened the day with wins as South Carolina State (2-1) took a 3-0 win over Hampton 30-28, 30-13, and 30-18 while The Citadel (3-0) posted a 3-0 win over Clark Atlanta, 30-22, 30-18, and 30-26.

The Citadel (4-0) sealed their championship with a 3-0 win over Savannah State (0-3) by scores of 30-10, 30-17, and 30-13. Hampton (2-2) finished the day on a strong note posting a 3-0 win over Clark-Atlanta (1-3) by scores of 32-30, 30-27, and 30-27.

South Carolina State (3-1) took a hard-fought 3-0 win over Savannah State in the final match of the tournament by scores of 30-17, 30-21, and 30-25.

Citadel outside hitter Samantha Parisi took Tournament MVP honors for the tournament and Bulldog middle blocker Audra Ritchie was also named to the All-Tournament Team.
