Cleveland, OH - The Citadel Bulldog wrestling team squared off against top-seeded Oklahoma State at 11:00 am Saturday at the National Duals in Cleveland, OH and came away with a 45-3 loss to the No. 1 Cowboys. The Bulldogs then lost to host Cleveland State, 21-12 in the consolation first round.

The Citadel (1-4) was led by 157-pound junior Travis Piccard who went 2-0 on the day with both wins coming by decision. Piccard opened up the day with a 4-3 decision over Oklahoma State's 19th ranked Kevin Ward. In the Cleveland State match Piccard earned a 9-3 decision over Marcus Effner to extend his current win streak to 10 straight matches.

Against Cleveland State, Ryan McClester (133) and Levi Duyn (149) also earned points for the Bulldogs. McClester won by forfeit and Levi Duyn earned an 8-7 decision over Cleveland State's Ryan Hurley, while Billy Linane and Cleveland State's Joe Dennis were awarded double disqualifications to end the match. The Bulldogs will open up their Southern Conference slate on the road next weekend when they head to Chattanooga on Saturday January 29. That match has been moved to a 5:00 pm start.
