Spartanburg, SC - The Citadel rifle team competed in its fourth SEARC match of the 2004-2005 season this past Saturday hosted by Wofford College. The Bulldogs pulled in a third place finish with a final score of 2240. North Carolina State took the top team honors for the day firing a 2263 while Birmingham Southern followed with a 2261.

Freshman Steven Reis led The Citadel firing a 565 and finished fourth out of 44 participating shooters. Junior Evan Rishel was close behind with a final score of 564 and finishing fifth overall. Senior Sarah Deuschle and junior Vanessa Swan rounded out the top 15 shooting 560 and 551, respectively.

"We didn't shoot as well as I had expected," said head rifle coach William Smith. "We just have to put this behind us and hopefully have a better showing at N.C. State this weekend."

The Citadel rifle team next travels to Raleigh, NC this Saturday, January 29, to compete in a NCAA match hosted by N.C. State.
