Charleston, SC - Number 9 Central Michigan defeated North Carolina and The Citadel and the Tar Heels defeated the Bulldogs to give The Citadel two dual match losses Sunday afternoon in McAlister Field House.

Central Michigan (14-4) and North Carolina (6-4-1) faced off first with the Chippewas winning, 29-9. North Carolina's points came off of a Drew Forshey decision at 125 pounds and Evan Sola accepted a forfeit at 133 pounds. Central Michigan's Wynn Michalak sealed the victory in the seventh match when he defeated David Dashiell, 10-3 at 197 pounds.

The Citadel (2-7-1) then took on the Chippewas in the second dual of the day with Central Michigan winning, 37-9. Junior Travis Piccard and senior Ryan McClester scored the Cadets' only points. In the third match, Piccard defeated Eric Neil with a 3-1 sudden victory decision at 157 pounds and McClester took a forfeit at 133 pounds to end the match. Wynn Michalak once again locked in the Chippewas' victory in the seventh match when he pinned freshman Aaron Brown in 27 seconds at 197 pounds. In the Third Dual of the day, North Carolina defeated The Citadel, 29-10. The `Dogs trailed, 9-0 until junior Travis Piccard secured their first victory in the third match when he notched a 17-5 major decision over Greg Carr at 157 pounds. Dan Thompson and Keith Clifton kept The Citadel in the hunt. Thompson earned a 4-3 decision over Alex Maciag at 174 pounds and Clifton used a last second takedown to defeat Justin Dobies, 6-4 at 184 pounds. After Clifton's win the Bulldogs trailed 12-10, but the Tar Heels finished with four straight wins to close out the match.

The Citadel will head to Davidson on Thursday, February 17 to take on the Wildcats, while North Carolina will face N.C. State at home on Thursday to close out their season. Central Michigan will face Kent State at home on Friday, February 18.
