Bulldogs Blasts Dukes, 6-1.

Charleston, SC - The Citadel tennis team gathered another win for the season, defeating James Madison, 6-1 on Wednesday March 9 at the Donald C. Bunch Tennis Courts.

In doubles action, The Bulldogs lost the first match as the number one team of Emery and Tarr defeated freshmen Daniel Dossetor and James Eason, 8-4. The Citadel then bounced back and won the doubles point by taking both the No. 2 and No. 3 matches. At number two doubles, juniors David Lara and Nick Medica defeated Campbell and Clay, 8-6. The Citadel's number three team of Ananda Sawmynaden and Sophomore Derek Jose defeated Davidison and Allensworth, 8-4. The Citadel tennis team continued to control the match by racking up five victories in singles play. At the number one spot Dossetor defeated Emery, 6-4, 6-2. The Dukes' only win was at the number two contest as Tarr defeated Eason, 6-2, 6-1.

"This was a good win against a good team," stated head coach Toby Simpson. "I hope that we can build on this".

The Citadel takes on Southern Conference foe Appalachian State at home on Friday, March 11, while James Madison travels to Davidson on March 12.
