Charleston, SC - New Citadel head football coach Kevin Higgins and the 2005 Bulldog football team completed its first day of spring practice Sunday afternoon at Willson Field. The Bulldogs have 14 practices remaining, three of which are scrimmages.

"It's exciting to be out here," stated Higgins. "I think our players are excited to get going and the coaching staff is as well."

Higgins and his staff took the opportunity to evaluate player personnel and technique during the first day of spring practice. He remarked to the team at the end of practice that they should use the next three weeks to learn and improve.

"It is nice to be back with college players again," Higgins added "I think this is a special group of players and we are looking forward to building this into a championship program, but I have to get a better feel for our players and what they can and cannot handle in order for us to improve."

The Bulldogs will take Monday off for academics and return to the practice field on Tuesday, April 5.
