Charleston, SC - The Citadel Athletic Department announced Wednesday afternoon that there will be a pre-game ceremony honoring the 1990 Citadel baseball team before the Bulldogs' home game against Charleston Southern on April 23.

Many of the players, coaches and administrators, along with their families, from the 1990 season will be returning to Riley Park to take part in the reunion and its festivities. All fans are invited to Riley Park on this special day to help honor the accomplishments of this special group of players.

As most know, the 1990 Bulldog squad, which was picked to finish sixth in the Southern Conference, accomplished more than any other Citadel team ever has. Coach Chal Port led his club to a Southern Conference Tournament championship, a NCAA Atlantic Regional title and The Citadel's only appearance at the College World Series in Omaha, Nebraska.

Festivities associated with the reunion include an autograph session between the team and fans that will begin at 1 pm, as well as a pre-game ceremony remembering and honoring the accomplishments of the 1990 squad. The pre-game tribute is slated to begin just before the Bulldogs are to throw out the first pitch at 2 pm.

A commemorative DVD about the 1990 team and their road to Omaha will also be available to those fans that purchase a ticket or to those who posses a season pass. The DVD can also be purchased for $12 at the game or by calling The Citadel Ticket Office.
