Former Bulldog Back in AFL Action

Atlanta, GA - This Saturday, June 4 at 3 p.m. ET on NBC -locally on WCBD - former Charleston Southern University defensive back Mike Brown and the Orlando Predators (11-6) take on former Citadel lineman Dary Myricks and the Southern Division Champion Georgia Force (12-5) in the AFL National Conference championship game, live from Philips Arena.

Brown, a wide receiver/defensive back, is in his second AFL season with Orlando. The former Buccaneer finished the season with 15 rushes for 63 yards and four touchdowns and 20 receptions for 269 yards and two touchdowns. On Defense, Brown had 32.0 tackles (28 solo), one tackle for a loss, one interception and one pass defended. Brown also returned three kicks for 88 yards.

In Orlando's Divisional Round win, Brown rushed the ball twice for 14 yards and had one reception for eight yards. On defense, Brown recorded three tackles.

Myricks, an offensive/defensive lineman, is in his sixth AFL season (second with Georgia). The former Bulldog finished the season with two tackles and two passes defended. In Georgia's Divisional Round win last week, Myricks recorded one tackle.

Brown was a standout defensive back at Charleston Southern. Before joining the Predators, Brown played two seasons in arenafootball2 (af2). In Brown's second season with the Charleston Swamp Foxes, he ranked No. 2 in the League in interceptions (9) and ranked No. 1 on the team in tackles (57.0).

Myricks graduated from Jackson High and went on to play offensive and defensive lineman at The Citadel. While at The Citadel, Myricks recorded 178 tackles and six sacks. As a senior, the former Bulldog earned First Team All-Southern Conference honors.
