Improbable Run for Dossetor, Eason Falls Just Short at ITA Regional Championships

Chapel Hill, N.C. The Citadel's Daniel Dossetor and James Eason continued their improbable run through the doubles bracket at the ITA Regional Championships at the University of North Carolina Sunday morning. They fell just short of reaching the title match as the cadet duo lost to a tough Georgia Tech team, 8-5, in the semifinals.

Dossetor and Eason's run through the doubles brackets turned heads as the unranked and unseeded tandem defeated three Atlantic Coast Conference opponents, took out a nationally ranked top 15 team and won over several seeded opponents.

“Danny and James played very well this weekend,” said head coach Toby Simpson. “They beat some very good doubles teams and showed what a solid base we are building for our program. The two are only juniors and with two full seasons in front of them, they are looking to lead our team as we grow and continue to improve.”

Both juniors, Dossetor hails from Griffith, Australia while Eason comes from Christchurch, New Zealand. The duo received First Team All-Southern Conference honors last season.
