On Monday, Lawson was also named Southern Conference player of the week.  He is the first football player to earn the honor this season.  Last Saturday, the junior quarterback led the Bulldogs to a 24-21 win against Chattanooga with a career-high of 324 yards on 24-of-32 passes and two touchdowns, making him the first Citadel quarterback to throw for more than 300 yards since 2003.

Lawson's 324 passing yards ranks eighth in the all-time single game passing records at The Citadel; and pushes him into the number one  SoCon spot in total offense with 881 yards, including 137 rushing and 744 passing, averaging 220.2 yards a game.
