Charleston, S.C. The Citadel Athletics Department and Head Basketball Coach Ed Conroy released the names of seven athletes who will join the Bulldogs as members of the 2007 recruiting class just after tip-off of the Bulldogs' season opener on Friday, Nov. 10 at McAlister Field House.
The group of signees consists of two standouts from Texas, one from Georgia, Indiana, and Ohio, and two from Croatia. The athletes range in height from 6-1 to 6-11, three of who are 6-8 and taller, and are described to be an athletic group of experienced basketball players. The 2007 class is the first recruiting class for Conroy who took over the head coaching job in April 2006.
“This class addresses needs that we have in terms of size, shooting ability and ball handling. It is hard to lose five experienced players like we have this year, but we hope the skills of these seven can offset the losses,” Conroy said. “The thing that really excites me about these kids is that they are all great people and kids that our staff will enjoy coaching and developing each day. They are a great fit for what we are trying to accomplish in our program and at The Citadel.
