Atlanta, Ga. - The Citadel's Stephanie McNeill threw the shot put 45' 10.75" as she finished 10th at the Georgia Tech Invitational, beating Notre Dame's Anna Weber by more than 10 inches. McNeill, the only Bulldog competing at the Georgia Tech Invitational, is continuing her preparations for the NCAA East Regional Championships in Greensboro, N.C., on May 26-27.

Friday's throw of 45' 10.75" by McNeill is the fourth-longest throw of the season for the junior from Ladson, S.C. McNeill currently holds the school record in the shot put, throwing for a distance of 47' 9" at the Raleigh Relays as she became the first female athlete at The Citadel to qualify for the NCAA Championships in any sport or event.

McNeill will continue preparing for the NCAA Championships as she competes in the discus on Saturday at the Georgia Tech Invitational in Atlanta. McNeill qualified for the NCAA Championships in the discus with a school record distance of 141' 2", winning the Southern Conference title at the SoCon Championships.
