The Citadel Baseball Claims No. 5 Seed in Southern Conference Tournament

The Citadel baseball claims the No. 5 seed in the Southern Conference Tournament and will face No. 4 Georgia Southern on Wednesday, May 24 at 7:30 p.m. at Riley Park. The Bulldogs faced the Eagles on March 24-26 for their first conference series of the year, while the Eagles won two of three. The Dogs are coming off their fifth consecutive SoCon series victory after taking two from the College of Charleston to end the regular season.

The tournament has been modified to include all 10 SoCon teams this season. The single-elimination round will begin on Tuesday, May 23 as the bottom four seeds face each other. No. 7 UNC Greensboro will play No. 10 Wofford at noon, while No. 8 Appalachian State will face No. 9 Davidson in game two at 3:30 p.m.

The regular double-elimination round starts on Wednesday, May 24 with game three between No. 3 Furman and No. 6 Western Carolina beginning at 10 a.m. No. 2 College of Charleston will play the winner of game one at 1 p.m., while No. 1 Elon will square-off against the winner of game two at 4 p.m.
