Charleston, S.C. The Citadel Cross Country teams return to action this weekend as they host the annual Citadel Invitational on Saturday morning at James Island County Park. The Bulldogs will be hosting their second and final meet of the year and will be taking on two other Southern Conference schools.
Furman and the College of Charleston will be squaring off against the Bulldogs, as will Big South member Charleston Southern. Lees-McRae, Lenoir-Rhyne, Morris, Newberry and USC Aiken will all be competing for the Division II crown.
The Citadel's Will Wilson is looking for his third individual crown of the year. The College of Charleston's Max Guaistis is hoping to finally upend Wilson as Guaistis as been beaten by Wilson by three seconds in both of their match-ups this year.
The Citadel women are led by a group of knobs that are running as well as anyone at the school and are looking for their first overall team win of the year. The Citadel women finished fifth at the USC Invitational and second overall in a handful of dual scoring events at the Bulldog Duals.
