Charleston, S.C. The Citadel Athletics Department revealed the new design of the football helmets that will be worn at the start of the Bulldogs' 2007 football season. The helmet color will return to Citadel blue with white trim and the words “The Citadel” on both sides. The face mask of the helmet will also be white.
The Bulldogs' new look will not stop at the helmet. The Citadel squad will also be dressed in a new road uniform when they travel to the Big Ten's Wisconsin on Sept. 15. The new white uniform by Nike will be very similar to last season's with the blue insert down the front and the sides, but it will be a more compression-type fitting, according to equipment manager Jeff Springer.
The Citadel will host their annual Blue and White Spring Game on Saturday, March 17 at 1:30 p.m. The game is free to the public and all fans are asked to enter on the East Side of Johnson Hagood. The Bulldogs open their season with two home games, the first against the Buccaneers of Charleston Southern on Sept. 1 followed by a match-up against Webber International on Sept. 8. Both games will kick-off at 2 p.m.
