Diamond Dogs Prepare for SoCon Tournament

Charleston, S.C.  The Citadel Baseball, finishing the regular season with a 30-25 mark, prepares to take on Davidson in the play-in round of the Southern Conference Tournament on Tuesday, May 22 at 3:30 p.m. at Riley Park.  The Bulldogs earned the seven seed, while the Wildcats are 10th.  If the Dogs should win their first round game, they will continue on to double-elimination play and face second-ranked Western Carolina on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.

The Bulldogs are forced to participate in the single-elimination round for the first time after its inception in 2006.  Prior to 2006, only the top eight teams in the Southern Conference made the double-elimination tournament.

Every Citadel baseball tournament game can be heard on CNN Radio 1450 AM or on CitadelSports.com with Darren Goldwater and Michael McLaurin calling all the action.  Fans can also access the SoCon video broadcast at CitadelSports.com.
