Charleston, S.C. The Citadel junior left fielder Chris Swauger was named to the 2007 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America Third Team for his performance on the field and in the classroom. Swauger, who made the Academic All-District Team for the second consecutive season, boasts a 3.92 GPA as a junior and lead the Bulldogs with 15 home runs and four triples on the year.
The Tampa, Fla. native finished the season with a .316 batting average and entered many top-10 career lists at The Citadel during his junior campaign. Swauger is fifth all-time in home runs with 28, sixth in all-time doubles with 51 and is first in career triples with 14. The outfielder was named to the 2007 All-Southern Conference Tournament team for the second consecutive year, while he was also honored on the coaches' All-SoCon second team. Swauger also enjoyed a career-long 15 game hitting streak in 2007.
