Durham, N.C. The Citadel catcher Richard Jones earned his third Freshman All-America honor as he was tabbed by Baseball America to the top collegiate rookie list Friday. Jones was previous named to the Freshman All-America lists on Rivals.com and by Louisville Slugger.

Following his stellar first year of collegiate baseball, Jones was also named the Southern Conference Freshman of the Year and has also been named to the Ping! All-Freshman team.

Jones hit .335 on the year with 15 home runs and 61 RBI. Jones led The Citadel in slugging percentage (.645) and his 15 round-trippers tied Chris Swauger for the team lead.
