Bulldogs Add Canadian Standout to 2009-10 Class

CHARLESTON, S.C. The Citadel Basketball program completed their fall signing class with the addition of Tristan Tremblay, a 6-7 forward from Montreal, Quebec. Tremblay will join previous signee Harrison DuPont on the 2009-10 Bulldog roster. Head coach Ed Conroy and his coaching staff announced the signing of Tremblay to a National Letter of Intent on Wednesday.

“Tristan is a strong, physical frontcourt player,” said Conroy. “He comes from a tremendous prep program at Champlain. He excels at defending and rebounding and his work ethic is second to none. Tristan is extremely focused on his athletic development and he will add a physical component to our roster that we will be missing with the departure of Demetrius.”

Tremblay attends Champlain College Saint-Lambert, a basketball powerhouse that has produced numerous Division I players. Davidson's William Archambault and Max Paulhus Gosselin, along with Western Carolina's Negus McKenna, are products of Champlain.

The Montreal native was named Mr. Champlain, was a member of CCAA Honor Roll and the FQSE Honor Roll. His 2008 team went all the way to the CCAA National Championship bronze game. He will major in health, nutrition and sport science.

“With his strength and touch around the basket, Tristan should be a tough matchup down low,” added Conroy. “Our staff is thrilled to be able to add two versatile, athletic, and highly competitive players like Tristan and Harrison to our roster. On the basketball floor, they will complement the current players on our roster extremely well. They are both outstanding students and high character individuals that will be ambassadors of The Citadel and our basketball program for many years.”
