Bulldog Soccer Honors 2007 Cadet-Student-Athletes

Charleston, S.C. - The Citadel soccer team hosted their annual awards in banquet in March recognizing the accomplishments of the 2007 squad. Among the honorees was freshman Jessa Scott for Most Valuable Player. 

Also receiving awards was junior Vivi Brown for Most Improved. Senior Britini Bunnell was given the Perseverance Award, while freshman Nicole Martinoli received the Newcomer Award. Freshman Liza Akesson earned the Academic Award and sophomore Kristine Devine received the Teammate Award. The Bulldog Award, given to the athlete who encompasses success in athletics, the Corps, academics and leadership, was presented to Aly Woodhead.

The 2007 team finished the season, under the leadership of second-year head coach Bob Winch, with a 3-16-0 record, their best record since going 5-11-2 in 2002. The Citadel team will say good-bye to three seniors (Bunnell, Ana Miranda and Woodhead) as they announced the signing of nine student-athletes to represent the class of 2012.  Joining the Dogs next season will be Cassandra Branch, Angela Foyt, Leah Hawkins, Miranda Johnson, Amy Loughran, Whitney Nave, Nikkita Persaud, Laura Serafino, and Hannah Warne.
