Charlotte, N.C. The Citadel Bulldog tennis team had a great day in Charlotte, N.C. as they swept both Wingate University and Queens University of Charlotte, 7-0.
The Citadel won the doubles' point, sweeping the Wingate, 8-6, 8-1 and 8-4.The Bulldogs then proceeded to win all six of the singles matches as well. Daniel Dossetor won at No. 1 (6-1, 6-1), Yufo Sutantio won at No. 2 (6-1, 6-0), James Eason won at No. 3 (6-2, 6-0), Alberto Diaz won at No. 4 (6-1, 6-2), Martin King won at No. 5 (6-1, 6-3), and Frederic Petrilli finished off Wingate winning at No. 6 (6-0, 6-1).
In the second game of the double-header, The Citadel had the same production against Queens Univ. as the Bulldogs again swept the doubles' point. The Bulldogs continued on to sweep the singles points as well to collect the win, 7-0. Dossetor won at No. 1 (6-0, 6-3), while Sutantio won at No. 2 (6-2, 5-7, 1-0), Eason won at No. 3 (6-1, 6-2), Diaz won at No. 4 (6-0, 6-0), and King won at No. 5 (6-1, 6-2) and Petrilli finished the day winning at No. 6 (6-1, 6-0).
The Citadel improves their record to 13-9 (3-3 SoCon) on the season and will be back in action Apr. 2 when they face cross-town rival the College of Charleston at 2 p.m. The Bulldogs have not won 13 matches since 1997, when the tennis team went, 14-10.
