Charleston, SC The Citadel Bulldog tennis team came from behind to defeat Toledo, 4-3, in a very close match Wednesday afternoon at the Earle Tennis Center.
The Citadel lost the doubles' point, which could have went to either team, with No. 2 doubles collecting the lone win, 8-6. However, The Bulldogs proceeded to win four of the six singles matches at No. 1, No.2, No.3 and No. 4 singles. Daniel Dossetor won at No. 1 (6-4, 6-1), while Yufo Sutantio won at No. 2 (6-4, 6-2). With the score at 3-2, James Eason would come from behind to win at No. 3 (4-6, 6-3, 6-1) and everyone would huddle around No. 4 singles to see Alberto Diaz finish off the Rockets in dramatic fashion coming from behind to win at No. 5 (1-6, 7-5, 6-4).
The Citadel improves their record to 5-5 (1-1 SoCon) on the season and will be back in action at the Earle Tennis Center tomorrow, Mar. 6 when they host James Madison at 1 p.m.
