Charleston, S.C. Chris Swauger and Chris McGuiness have been named to the ESPN The Magazine All-District III baseball team as voted on and announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Swauger earned First Team honors while McGuiness was named to the Second Team.
Swauger recently graduated from The Citadel with a business administration degree after earning straight As throughout college with the exception of one B. The Tampa, Fla. native leads the Bulldogs in many offensive categories this season and is second in the school's all-time charts in hits, total bases and doubles and holds the school record in triples. This season, Swauger is hitting .361 with 17doubles and 43 RBI.
Meanwhile McGuiness posted an impressive 3.97 GPA during his sophomore season while starting at first base all but five games this year. In those give games, McGuiness was the starting pitcher. McGuiness is hitting .283 on the season with 10 home runs and 38 RBI.
