Chris Swauger Named Academic All-America by ESPN The Magazine

Charleston, S.C. Following an incredible four-year career at The Citadel in which he posted a 3.95 grade point average and set the school record in career triples, outfielder Chris Swauger has been named ESPN The Magainze's Academic All-America Second Team for the second consecutive year. Swauger becomes only the second baseball player in school history to receive consecutive Academic All-America honors.

Swauger finished his collegiate career with a 3.95 grade point average as he obtained a degree in business administration. Swauger only received one B during his academic career.

Athletically, Swauger finished his four years at The Citadel highly decorated, finishing with the school record in triples and second in doubles.

Swauger becomes only the second baseball player in school history to receive back-to-back Academic All-America honors, having received Third Team honors last year. Only Marty Blair (1982 and 1983) has received multiple, let alone back-to-back, Academic All-America honors from The Citadel, receiving First Team honors in 1982 and 1983.

Earlier this year, Swauger was named First Team Academic All-District, his third consecutive Academic All-District honor.
