Charleston, S.C. - On Saturday, Sept. 27, The Citadel Athletics Department will recognize and honor our Citadel fallen, veterans, and current military personnel serving in our armed forces during pre-game and halftime ceremonies of The Citadel-Western Carolina football game scheduled to kickoff at 1 p.m.
All veterans, Junior ROTCs, and current military from The Citadel and the lowcountry are invited to attend pre-game festivities in and around Johnson Hagood Stadium starting at 8:00AM. There will be military equipment displays to include a Bradley Fighting Vehicle and M1A1 Tank, a Coast Guard Boat Station, a World War II Jeep and Halftrack and the ROTC departments will conduct a 5K fun run with the Corps of Cadets.
Pre-game and halftime festivities inside the stadium will feature
• The U.S. Army Golden Knights Parachuting Team who will bring in the flags and game ball prior to kickoff.
• The Citadel's Corps of Cadets will march onto the field during pre-game and freshmen will stay on the field to form the 'C' for the football team entrance.
• Two F/A 18 E Super Hornets from the U.S. Navy will conduct the flyover at the conclusion of the National Anthem played by The Citadel's Regimental Band and Pipes. The flyover will be led by Commander Klas Ohman Citadel class of 1990 who is the commanding officer of VFA 136 Knight Hawks squadron at the Naval Air Station Oceana in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
• Halftime ceremonies will feature; a video on Citadel KIA in the War on Terrorism and other Citadel veterans, the placement of a helmet, boots and dog tags to signify the fallen, and The Regimental Band and Pipes will play various songs to include Taps, Amazing Grace on the bag pipes and the Armed Forces Medley.
• The Holliday Alumni Center and Altman Center will have military displays on site beginning at 8 a.m.

• Fans are encouraged to purchase a special commemorative military t-shirt at the Gift Shop or inside the stadium. The shirt was designed by Citadel Cadet Justin Moon and will be available throughout the summer at the gift shop on campus or online at http://giftshop.citadel.edu.
