Charleston, S.C. - Sophomore wrestler Odie Delaney was tabbed as the 23rd best wrestler in the 197-pound weight class in Wrestling USA Magazine this week. He was mentioned as a darkhorse contender for the NCAA title in 2009-2010.

Delaney looks to continue his success this season after becoming the first true freshman at The Citadel ever to reach the NCAA Championships. The SoCon champion went a team leading 25-18 his first year and was a perfect 5-0 in conference dual action. The Destin, Fla. native had 14 pins which led the Southern Conference.

The Citadel wrestling team opens their 2009-2010 season on Saturday, Nov. 7 hosting The Citadel Open. The Bulldogs will also face NC State in dual action that same day at 1 p.m. Both events will take place at McAlister Field House.
