Charleston, S.C. - The Bulldog Volleyball team returns to action on Friday as they head to the USC Upstate Volleyball Classic in Spartanburg, S.C. This will be the second of four tournaments the Bulldogs will participate in this season before opening conference play in late September.

On Friday, Sep. 4, the Bulldogs will face North Carolina State at 12:30 p.m. and will then face host USC Upstate in the night game at 7:30 p.m. The Citadel will conclude the tournament by facing UNC Asheville at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.

The Bulldogs faced UNC Asheville last weekend in the North Carolina Central Tournament and fell in a hard-fought 3-2 match. The Citadel faced USC Upstate last year in Spartanburg and dropped that decision 3-1. The Cadets have only faced NC State once in their program history and that was at the NC State Invitational in 2005. North Carolina State will be the first ACC opponent the Bulldogs have faced since Head Coach Carolyn Geiger took over the program in 2006.
