Spartanburg, S.C. - Bulldog freshman distance runner Micah Wessinger has been honored as the Southern Conference Women's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week for all meets on Jan. 29-30. The selections are made by the league's track and field coaches.

A native of Chester, S.C., Wessinger set a new school record in the 1,000m and finished third at the Dick Taylor Carolina Classic. Her time of 2:58.95 was 12 seconds faster than Sarah Strickland's 2008 time of 3:10.74.
