Charleston, S.C. - The Citadel Rifle team will host Virginia Military Institute and the University of Alabama at Birmingham Saturday, Feb. 6 for the NCAA Air Rifle and Smallbore competition at the Inouye Hall Marksmanship Center.
The last time the Bulldogs were in action, The Citadel hosted the U.S. Air Force Academy and North Carolina State University on Jan. 30-31, also in a NCAA Air Rifle and Smallbore competition. The Air Force Academy claimed the victory on both days of the two-day event, followed by NC State in second place on day one with The Citadel men and women wrapping up the competition both days.
Freshman Thomas Kersey led all Bulldogs on both days firing a score of 572 on day one, while improving to a score 573 on day two. On the first day of competition senior Josie Stern led The Citadel women and freshman Terri Craig paced the women the next day.
