Asher Wojciechowski has been named one of CollegeBaseball360.com's Primetime Performers for his performance in last week's series at Georgia Southern.
The Southern Conference Pitcher of the Year posted a complete game win in the opener of a critical conference series at Georgia Southern, 9-4. In the process, the Bulldogs clinched a share of the SoCon title. His win sparked the team to a series sweep and outright conference title.
Wojciechowski took a shutout into the eighth inning, as the offense built a 9-0 lead, before allowing four runs. He finished with nine strikeouts, 10 groundouts, nine hits and a pair of walks in the win in a key series against GSU, who entered with a 12-game winning streak.
The right-hander was named SoCon Pitcher of the Year by both the coaches and the media this week. He currently sits at 10-2 with an ERA of 3.23. In 103.0 innings pitched, "Wojo" struck out 128 batters, second most in Division I and held opponents to a batting average of .218.
The Citadel enters the SoCon Tournament as the top overall seed and will face eighth-seeded Furman on Wednesday at 5 p.m. at Riley Park. A full recap and box score will follow shortly after the game.
