Charleston, S.C. - The Citadel baseball team will receive their 2010 Southern Conference Championship rings at halftime of the basketball game vs. Furman on Thursday, Feb. 3. Tip-off is slated for 7:05 p.m.
The Diamond 'Dogs had one of the most successful seasons in program history in 2010 as they captured the regular season SoCon championship and the SoCon Tournament championship in the same season for only the second time in school history.
The 43 wins in 2010 were the second most in a single season as the Bulldogs went 24-6 in league play and ended the regular season with the nation's longest winning streak. The regular season championship was the 13th in school history, the most of any SoCon school, while the tournament title was the eighth in program history for a league-leading total of 21 SoCon titles.
The Bulldogs begin the 2011 season on Friday, Feb. 18 when they host Gardner-Webb in The Citadel Memorial Challenge presented by the Charleston Crab House at 4 p.m. at Riley Park.
