Bulldogs Set for Duke and Furman Invitational

Charleston, S.C. – The Citadel Track and Field teams will travel to Durham, N.C., and Greenville, S.C., for the weekend as the Bulldogs will split up to compete at the Duke Invitational on Friday and Saturday, April 8-9 and the Furman Invitational on Saturday, April 9.

Meet Information
Duke Invitational
Hosted by Duke University at the Wallace Wade Stadium, the Duke Invitational will feature over 50 institutions and several post-collegiate athletes during the two-day event. Friday's events will begin at 12 p.m. with the women's javelin throw competition, and the first track event will be the men's 100m dash slated for a 1:15 p.m. start. Again on Saturday a women's field event will kickoff the day with the discus throw at 9 a.m. Track events will resume at 9:45 a.m. with the women's 800m.

Furman Invitational
The Furman Invitational, a one day meet, will be held at the Irwin Belk Track Complex for Track and Field and Kelsey-West Track. The meet, featuring post-collegiate, collegiate and high school student-athletes, will begin at 7:30 a.m. with the 5,000m walk competition. Collegiate events will begin with the preliminary round of the men's 110m hurdles at 8:45 a.m., while the men's discus will start the field events at 11:30 a.m.

Last Meet
In their last competition, The Citadel participated at the Florida Relays in Gainesville, Fla. The women's sprint medley relay team broke a school record, while others cruised into the Bulldogs' all-time top-10 list.
