Charleston, S.C. – The Southern Conference media selected the Bulldogs to finish last out of nine teams, according to the 2011 football preseason poll released by the league office on Tuesday.
The Citadel received 45 points behind Western Carolina, who was picked to finish eighth (56). Georgia Southern (254) was the media's favorite as they edged Appalachian State (249) by the smallest margin in the poll between the top two teams since ASU topped Marshall by just six points in 1996.
The Eagles received 15-of-30 first-place votes, while Appalachian State garnered 13 first-place nods. Wofford, who was selected third (215) received two first place votes.
