Bulldogs Break Two School Records and Capture Numerous Season Bests at Carolina's Cup

Rock Hill, S.C. – David Melton broke his own school record in the pole vault for the third time this season as the sophomore cleared the bar at 16-feet, while Micah Wessinger nabbed the school record in the 400 with a mark of 57.20, .18 seconds better than Alexis Moore's record-breaking run in 2007 as the Bulldogs finished up action at the Carolina's Cup on Friday.

Seven other Bulldog's recorded season best marks on the day as well. Quintin Turner heaved the discus 157'.25" to capture second place while Jamaal Brantley (56.06) and Brandon Fetrow (57.08) posted season- and personal-bests in the 400 hurdles.

In the relays, the men's and women's 4x100 both ran season best times. The men's team consisting of Brantley, Blane Woodfin, Benjamin McCoy and Daniel Till posted a time of 42.62 while the women's quartet of Alexandria Moss, Christina Hinds, Francesca McCrary and Tanisha Bethel recorded a mark of 49.40 to claim sixth place on the all-time list.

On the track, Bethel and Till nabbed season bests in the 200. Bethel posted a time of 25.55 to move her into third place all-time in Citadel history while Till recorded a mark of 22.30.

The Bulldogs will travel to Cullowhee, N.C., on April 21-22 to compete in the Southern Conference Championships.
