Charleston, S.C. – On Friday evening The Citadel volleyball team closes out the road portion of its 2013 schedule when it heads to Belk Arena to meet Davidson.
The 7 p.m. meeting with the Wildcats marks the last time that the two teams will go head-to-head as members of the SoCon as Davidson is departing for the Atlantic 10 Conference following the 2013-14 athletic season.
The Bulldogs (5-24, 0-13 SoCon), are seeking their second victory in the all-time series with Davidson as well as their second win away from McAlister Field House this season. The Citadel lone victory over the Wildcats came in 2004 when they took a four-set thriller by scores of 28-30, 30-22, 30-24, 33-31.
Davidson (13-13, 4-8) enters the match ninth in the SoCon standings. The Wildcats are within one victory of tying Wofford following a four-set win on Saturday against Chattanooga.
The Wildcats offensive is highlighted by the trio of Caroline Brown (329 kills), Taylor Pisel (243) and Tindall Sewell (185). Leading the way defensively are Anastasia Owen (426 digs) and Emily Franklin (87 assisted blocks).
