Dogs Complete Non-Conference Slate with Trip to Radford

Citadel Game Notes

Charleston, S.C.
— The Citadel basketball team completes the non-conference portion of its schedule on Thursday when it takes on Radford at 5:30 p.m.

In the second all-time meeting between the two schools, the Bulldogs will be looking to exact their revenge on a Highlander squad that earned a 74-61 victory at McAlister Field House a season ago.

A victory for The Citadel (4-10) would halt not only a 10-game road losing streak that dates back to Feb. 23, 2013, but it would also snap a 23-game skid in non-neutral non-conference contests that started on Nov. 12, 2011 at Richmond.

The Bulldogs' fourth meeting with a Big South Conference member this season will also serve as a homecoming for Virginia natives Ashton Moore and Brian White. White, a freshman from Richmond, Va., leads The Citadel in 11 statistical categories including minutes played (458), field goals made (77), field goal percentage (55.8%), total rebounds (102), points (202) and points per game (14.4).

Moore, who hails from Suffolk, Va., has scored 36 points over the last two games and led the Dogs in scoring in the process. With 534 points to his credit, Moore recently joined Matt Van Scyoc (530 points) as the only two players on the current roster with 500 career points.

Radford (9-4) enters the game with a perfect 5-0 record at home following victories over Chattanooga, Brevard, Central Penn, North Carolina A&T and Houghton.

The Highlanders are led offensively by the trio of Javonte Green (17.1 ppg), R.J. Price (14.1) and Ya Ya Anderson (10.0). Radford is averaging 77.2 points per game this season after eclipsing the 80-point mark on six occasions.

Fans can follow all the action with Citadel play-by-play announcer Danny Reed on Fox Sports Radio 1450.
