Charleston, S.C. — The Citadel basketball team returns to McAlister Field House on Saturday afternoon for the first time 12 days when it faces Gardner-Webb at 2:05. The Cadets will be looking to avenge a 71-58 defeat suffered at the hands of the Runnin' Bulldogs last season when the two teams square off for the second time in program history.

The Bulldogs (3-7) are also hoping to extend their four-game home winning streak that dates back to a 68-57 victory over Furman on Feb. 28. A victory would mark the first time since the 2001-02 season that The Citadel won its first four games at McAlister.

In three home games, the Dogs are outscoring their opponents by an average of 29.7 points per game, including a 45-point victory over Montreat in their most recent appearance at McAlister on Nov. 25.

Gardner-Webb (4-5) had a two-game winning streak snapped on Wednesday with a 65-62 setback to Wofford. The Runnin' Bulldogs are averaging 70.3 points per contest this season behind the offensive trio of Naji Hibbert (13.6 ppg), Donta Harper (12.0) and Jerome Hill (10.9).
