Citadel Game Notes
Charleston, S.C. — The Citadel basketball team completes the second leg of a three-game road trip on Saturday at 4 p.m. when it squares off with Southern Conference rival Davidson in Belk Arena.
The 141st all-time meeting between the Wildcats and Bulldogs, the fourth-longest in league history, will mark the last between the two programs as SoCon foes with the Wildcats departing for the Atlantic-10 at the close of the 2013-14 athletic season.
A victory by The Citadel (4-19, 0-8 SoCon) would snap an 11-game losing streak overall and a 10-game losing streak in conference play that dates back to a March 2, 2013 loss to Wofford.
The Bulldogs are looking to rebound from a tough shooting performance at Georgia Southern where they managed to hit only 20-of-57 (35.1%) from the floor. The bright spot for the Cadets offensively was the play of Ashton Moore, who notched his eighth consecutive double-digit outing with 14 points.
Meanwhile, Davidson (11-11, 7-1) enters the contest riding a four-game winning streak that began with a 93-82 victory over UNCG. The Wildcats are led by De'Mon Brooks who, after suffering an injury earlier this season, has returned to form by averaging 18.2 points and 7.3 rebounds per game in 16 starts.
