The Citadel Game Notes

Charleston, S.C. — The Citadel basketball team heads into the final week of the Southern Conference regular season on Monday when it hosts Samford at McAlister Field House in a game that is set to begin at 7:05 p.m.

The game can be seen on ESPN3 and CSS (42 Comcast; 402/1671 Comcast HDTV) with former Citadel announcer Darren Goldwater providing the play-by-play.

The Citadel is seeking its eighth victory in the 12th all-time meeting between the two programs. That includes a 2-2 mark under current head coach Chuck Driesell, who is looking for a repeat of his team's 73-62 victory over Samford on Jan. 7, 2012.

Samford (11-17, 5-8 SoCon) is returning to the court after a 23-point loss at Elon on Feb. 15. That was Bulldogs' fourth loss in February and second during a road swing through North Carolina that included a 74-68 setback at Appalachian State. Samford is led by the scoring efforts of Tim Williams (17.2 ppg), Isaiah Williams (12.4) and Raijon Kelly (10.9).
