Charleston, S.C. - The Citadel and South Carolina State battled to a 1-1 tie in a women's soccer spring contest Sunday at WLI Field.
The Citadel dominated the contest, outshooting S.C. State by a 21-5 margin and earning five corner kicks to only one for the visiting Bulldogs. Flo Amess scored The Citadel's goal off an assist from Nicholle Griffith.
Naomi Carter played the entire 90 minutes in goal for The Citadel and had a shutout until S.C. State scored on a penalty kick in the 80th minute.
The Bulldogs are back in action Friday at 3:30 when they host Winthrop at WLI Field.
