CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Citadel's Aaron Walker has been selected to the 2016-17 Southern Conference Wrestling Preseason All-Conference team, it was announced Thursday.

Walker was honored for the third time at the 157-pound weight class as he looks for his fourth All-SoCon selection this season.

Last season, Walker finished as the runner-up at the SoCon Championships and received an at-large bid to the NCAA Championships, making his third straight appearance.

The graduate student is a two-time SoCon champion and owns a career record of 89-25 as he looks to become the seventh Bulldog wrestler to amass 100 career wins.

Along with his conference preseason selection, Walker was also ranked 20th in Division I by InterMat.

The Bulldogs open the 2016-17 campaign on Nov. 6 at the Hokie Open, hosted by Virginia Tech. The Citadel then returns home for its first dual match of the season, hosting Coker College on Nov. 9.
